Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Chocolate covered strawberries are perfect for any occasion not just Valentine’s Day. They are so quick and easy to make even the littlest of helpers would enjoy making them. 

Ingredients

  • 1lb strawberries100g
  • 85% chocolate (about 2/3 cups)


Instructions

1. Wash the strawberries with a damp paper towel. Place the clean strawberries to dry between paper towels while you are preparing the chocolate.

2. In a microwave safe bowl melt chocolate, mine took a total of 1 minute and 30 seconds. Stir really well until the chocolate is perfectly melted and smooth.

3. Line a baking sheet with a piece of wax paper.

4. Dip each strawberry a little more than 3/4 into the chocolate, lift and gently twist, allowing any access chocolate to fall back into the bowl. Place the strawberries on the wax paper. Repeat with the rest of the strawberries. I had enough chocolate to cover 21 strawberries which was almost exactly 1 pound. 

5. Here you have two choices:       

1 – if you want to drizzle them with additional chocolate or just leave them simple place the cookie sheet in the fridge or freezer until the chocolate hardens (fridge 10-15 minutes or freezer 5 minutes).        

2 – if you want to dress the strawberries up and dust them with freeze dried strawberries or raspberries do it immediately after dipping the last strawberry before the chocolate hardens. Keep in mind more is less when it comes to dusting them.
