Family Favorite
My kids love pizza! Lets be real, though, who doesn’t love pizza – I know I do! I can’t decide if I like traditional pizza more or cheesy bread dipped in marinara sauce. Yum!
The kids ask for pizza at least once a week but with us being a family of 6 the cost adds up very quickly, even if it is only once a week. I don’t want to be a complete Grinch so when they least expect it I surprise them with a couple boxes.
I’m always looking for ways to take what our family loves and make it a little more healthy and more cost efficient. This recipe is so easy (takes less than 5 minutes to mix everything together) and you know exactly what goes into it.
This dough comes together really nicely but like all dough, it likes human interaction. When you are done mixing the dough in your kitchen aid turn it over onto your counter and knead it just until the dough is smooth, less than a minute. This recipe makes 4, 14 inch pizzas – it’s a perfect recipe for a crowd or if you want to freeze some for future use.
How I Make Pizza
Preheat your oven with the pizza stone inside to 450.
After I divide the dough into 4 balls (each child makes their own pizza) I place the dough on a piece of parchment paper. I wish I had a pizza peel, I wouldn’t need to use the parchment paper.
Place the dough ball in the center of the parchment paper and flatten the ball. Starting at the center and working outwards, use your fingertips to press the dough into a 14 inch circle.
Lightly brush the edges of the dough with olive oil, spoon marinara sauce and spread evenly over the dough.
Top with your favorite toppings: cheese, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, tomato slices, peppers, chicken, onions, kielbasa and/or bacon.
Pull the pizza stone out of the oven and carefully slide the pizza with the parchment paper onto the pizza stone. Return to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is bubbling.
**If I’m in a hurry I divide the dough into two balls and use my big 20×14 pan to make a large pizza.

I made this for my son’s birthday party yesterday. I made a lot of dough and made doughnut sized rolls so everyone could make their own personal pizzas. We had many friends over as well as our large family (19 people). Everyone loved making the pizzas how they wanted it. I received so many compliments on the crust specifically! Everyone loved it! The kids wanted to make more pizza tonight. I also shared this recipe with a friend.
Hi Elizabeth! I’m so glad you and your guests enjoyed the pizza dough. Making personalized pizzas is so fun. Happy Birthday to your son 🎉
Easy and fast to make and delicious. Thank you
What is AP flour? Is that on plan?
